Aurora Guerrero’s voice is sweet and feminine, yet she is a fighter – as strong as they come. Her film, Mosquita y Mari, premiered at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, which is based on autobiographical events and that she has been writing, on and off, for almost half of her life.
She’s no stranger to Sundance, with four of her short films being in the Festival since 2005, but this is her first feature-length film.
Watch as rising film director Guerrero discusses the making of her first feature, Mosquita y Mari. Hear how the support of her community helped it all come together, and how she ended up introducing the film to audiences at Sundance.
