Matt Groening Has Funny “Simpsons” Stories about Prince and Liz Taylor
In his interview with Playboy for their upcoming June issue, Matt Groening, creator of “The Simpsons,” mused over the various guest-stars the animated series has seen in its nearly 400 episodes on the air. Liz Taylor was supposed to voice the youngest Simpson, Maggie, when she said her first word.
“We did 24 takes, but they were always too sexual. Finally Liz said, ‘F– you,’ and walked out.”
In addition, Prince had once considered lending his voice talent to an episode, but it also never came to fruition. And no, it’s not because the way he said “Daddy” was too sexual, although I imagine it would be.
“Prince wanted to do the show, so we wrote him a script. It didn’t work out, because his chauffeur had written a script too, and Prince wanted to use that one.”
And that chauffeur turned out to be Conan O’Brien. Actually, no. It didn’t.
