If one thing is certain, we are in the midst of a Vampire craze. At least something good came out of the recession, right? (Don’t answer that). Author Anne Rice, who basically reignited our vampire love in Interview With The Vampire in the early 90s, seems to watch a lot of television and threw out some names for guys she thought were good looking enough to be in a possible reboot of her bloodsucker series.
First on her list, the ever delicious Matt Bomer, star of White Collar.
“Matt Bomer is a beautiful, beautiful guy. He could play Louis,” she gushed.
And he is beautiful…just look at those eyes…and him shirtless isn’t too bad either…
She also named Richard Armitage and thinks Robert Downey Jr. would be fantastic as the vampire Lestat.
“That would be wonderful,” she tells Vulture. “He is a great actor. He would bring the gravitas and the wit and humor and all of that to the part, and I don’t think he’s too old. I think if he had a blond wig and makeup, he would be a wonderful Lestat.”
For now though, reigniting the franchise is strictly gossip. No studio has purchased the rights to her work but eventually, since we are in the era of the vampire, I can’t imagine it’ll be long before someone does take her work and put it on the big screen.
