Martinis and Popcorn: ‘The Social Network,’ ‘Case 39′ and ‘Let Me In’

The weekend has come and pretty much all movie-goers will say the tagline at some point: You don’t get 500 million friends without making a few enemies.

The Social Network
premieres today and I feel confident saying it’s going to sweep the box office. Whether it will get Justin Timberlake an Oscar nod, that’s another story.

The Social Network is based on the novel, The Accidental Billionaires (2009) and is about the founding of Facebook.

After sinking nearly $50 million on this film, Columbia Pictures is ensuring bank with numerous trailers to peak your interest. If you happened to catch one, you’d understand each trailer’s target. Personally, this trailer is my favorite.

All the hype around the film and the actors, is what makes me think that Case 39 and Let Me In will provide little to no competition.

Unless you care to see how that Bradley Cooper / Renee Zellweger romance began. I’m more interested to see how it will end.

Case 39 has Zellweger starring as a social worker helping a young, cursed girl; while Let Me In stars another little girl who’s a starving vampire – no dear Twihards, this is not another Twilight movie.

Spend the inflated movie ticket price right! Go see The Social Network and feed the social media fire.
