Martinis and Popcorn: ‘Dinner for Schmucks,’ ‘Charlie St. Cloud’ and ‘Cats & Dogs’
Witness various levels of stupid with this weekend’s movie premieres.
Dinner for Schmucks is outright stupid
Charlie St. Cloud is seriously stupid
Cats & Dogs is stupid
But Dinner for Schmucks will give Inception a good run for its money. Audiences can’t get enough of Steve Carell’s eccentric characters. You can’t help but love to hate The Office’s departing unconventional boss, Michael Scott, and he stole hearts as the endearing super villain in Despicable Me.
Charlie St. Cloud will probably come in around third of fourth, depending if people still want to see Angelina Jolie in Salt and thanks to the High School Musical followers that have grown up a little and want to see Zac Efron attempt to take on more “serious” roles in order to garner a serious adult career.
And Cats & Dogs…? Hmm.
If you’re sitting in the audience for that film then you might just be a “schmuck.” In case you’re wondering if you fall into that category, here are four warning signs courtesy of Steve Carell and MTV.
1. If people don’t want to be around you.
2. If you don’t have many friends.
3. If you consider the friends you have to be extremely loser-ish.
4. If your friends look and act exactly like you.
Choose wisely movie folks!
