Martinis and Popcorn: ‘No Strings Attached’

The Green Hornet might’ve dominated last week’s box office, but it will be Natalie Portman who will direct traffic to the theaters this weekend in more ways than one.

The stylish mom-to-be has two box office draws this weekend. First and foremost, she stars alongside female orgasm expert Ashton Kutcher in No Strings Attached, which releases worldwide. The film is about what most attempt to do and fail to succeed at: two friends who decide to have a purely sexual relationship until one of them inevitably falls in love. This has rom com written all over it.

With No Strings Attached being the only wide release hitting theaters, movies goers are getting a lull to catch up on any Oscar contending films, which brings us to Portman’s second pull in theaters this weekend. Black Swan, which also stars Mila Kunis, has been everyone’s fascination and the buzz was heightened this last weekend when Portman scored the Golden Globe for Best Actress.

Still in theaters are other contenders including True Grit and The King’s Speech. Take advantage of this slightly slower weekend to prep yourself for the Oscars, which will be hosted by Anne Hathaway and James Franco. If you’re anything like me, you’ll need all the help you can get to keep up when Franco takes the stage. Swoon!
