Mark Ruffalo Is Honored For His Environmental Efforts

Mark Ruffalo was awarded with the Entertainment Industry Environmental Leadership Award at Global Green USA’s 15th Annual Millennium Awards at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel Saturday in Santa Monica, California.  According to The Hollywood Reporter, the ceremony also recognized the efforts of actor Ed Begley Jr.and environmental activist Wendy Schmidt (wife of Google’s Eric Schmidt).

Ruffalo is being honored for his efforts to stop hydrofracking, “a controversial method of extracting natural gas from underground shale bed,” according to the Reporter.

Modern Family‘s Ed O’Neil attended the event, as well as Jamie Lee Curtis, Kevin Bacon, Kyra Sedgewick, James Kyson Lee, Sharon Lawrence, Adrian Grenier, Miranda Kerr, and Orlando Bloom.
