One of these things is not like the others!

Mariah Carey made a surprise appearance last night on Jimmy Fallon and treated us with a really fun version of “All I Want For Christmas Is You.”

Accompanied by host Jimmy Fallon and The Roots, Carey took a different spin on her self-penned holiday classic, with the bunch using plastic instruments normally found in an elementary school classroom.

Fallon played the wood block, tambourine, bass drum and kazoo, while Questlove rocked a wooden clacker with an afro pick. Other unorthodox instruments included: a Fisher Price xylophone, recorder, melodica, ukulele, bongos and sleigh bells. Watch the clip above.

Then we have John Travolta and Olivia Newton John’s new holiday music video with the premiered on Ellen.

The duo previewed their video for their song “I Think You Might Like It.” The song is not in the least bit Christmasy. Let us know what you think of it in the comments below.

The song comes from an album with good intentions though. The duo teamed up for a holiday album called “This Christmas,” with all proceeds going to the Jett Travolta Foundation, in honor of Travolta late son, and the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Center to celebrate Olivia’s 20th cancer free year.

  1. Everything Mariah (over)does is for money. John & Olivia’s is for CHARITY. And you say where is the Christmas? It’s in family, coming home, and giving to charity

  2. We can see Ms Carey anytime we want–or don’t want– How often do we get ONJ and Travolta together singing and dancing!? Love it!

If you listen to the lyrics of I Think You Might Like It, you’ll hear that it’s in the holiday spirit with the ringing of sleigh bells at the start of the song. Here’s a sample of the lyrics:
    I’m coming home tonight
Here comes that magical spell of Christmas Eve…
    You’d better put your sleigh
In a holding pattern Santa please
    I’m coming home….
    And we can cry tomorrow
    Watching “It’s a Wonderful Life”
The spirit of the video is definitely Christmas with Olivia and John.

Olivia & John are such a class act! Their chemistry continues to flow. Loved how they included local folk, including the military, in their video!!!
