London’s famous Tower Bridge had to make way for a 50-foot rubber duck today (December 11th), sent floating down the River Thames with the intent to make people smile.
According to the Sun, the massive bathtub toy set sail to promote Jackpotjoy’s new “Fundation,” with plans to boost the number of times Brits laugh each day from 7.2 to 15.
Former Eastenders star Barbara Windsor launched the duckie with a bottle of champers, hoping that Londoners would get a right laugh out of the duck.
“We decided to round off the year with the giant duck and it certainly cheered everyone up,” Windsor said of the larger-than-life toy, which took 800 man hours to construct. ”No-one could suppress a smile as they saw it sailing past!”
The Jackpotjoy Fundation encourages people to enter their entertaining stunts, all in the name of making people laugh.
