Major Cast Changes On ‘Glee’ As Cory Monteith, Chris Colfer, Jacob Artist & More Gather For Photoshoot

The Best of 'Glee'
Socialite Life picks the best 'Glee' performances.
There will be some faces missing during season five of Glee. Heather Morris, Mark Salling, Amber Riley and Harry Shum, Jr. will no longer appear as series regulars. There is a chance that they will be appearing as guest stars in upcoming episodes, but we won’t be seeing them on a regular basis anymore. I’m really gonna miss four out of the five.

On the flip side, Melissa Benoist, Jacob Artist and Becca Tobin have been promoted to series regulars along with Glee Project alums Blake Jenner and Alex Newell.

We will also be seeing a lot less of Jayma Mays, who landed a co-starring role in CBS’ upcoming Will Arnett comedy The Millers

So what is in store for Glee? Kevin Reilly, Chairman, Entertainment, FOX Broadcasting Company spoke about the upcoming fifth season season, stating that the musical dramedy will air a handful of episodes this fall before taking a hiatus until the spring. “We’re going to come out with a fall season of Glee, put it on hiatus for a little bit, give [new series] ‘Rake’ a tryout,” he explained. “Then ‘Glee’ will be back in the spring, relaunching with I think a creative twist in terms of where we’re going with the creative evolving. And then that will play right into the summer as it’s done once before.”

The new full time cast members joined Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Chord Overstreet, Naya Rivera, Chris Colfer, Jenna Ushkowitz and Kevin McHale for a season 5 photoshoot late Friday afternoon (June 28, 2013). Launch the gallery to check out all the pics of the cast!

Glee returns for its fifth season on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 9 p.m. on Fox.
