‘Magic Mike’ Sequel In The Works, According To Channing Tatum [PHOTOS]
The brilliant minds at Glamour UK came up with a Twitterview featuring Channing Tatum entitled (naturally) #AskChanning. Fans tweeted questions to the Magic Mike star, who did his best to answer as many as possible.
The best thing that came out of this, though, was Tatum’s confirmation that a Mike sequel was in the works. Our friends over at Crushable spread the good news, given that Mike has made $75 since opening June 29th (with a $7 million budget).
“Yes, yes and yes! We’re working on the concept now. We want to flip the script and make it bigger.”
BEST. NEWS. EVER.
What else did Tatum have to say?
One of the funniest mishaps on set:“Watching Matthew McConaughey during his dance, it had such a crazy build up! The women lost their minds and ripped his thong off.”
Which of Tatum’s Magic Mike co-stars has the best moves? “Joe Manganiello is a natural but McConaughey has the experience- I think it’s a toss up between the two.”
Have Tatum’s parents seen the movie? “They weren’t going to come to the premiere but they liked it. Dad said, ‘Nothing I couldn’t handle.’ It was weird to hear from my parents though.”
Who had the most enviable body on set, according to Tatum: “Manganiello- he looks like he’s from Spartan blood! He’s how Spartans would have looked back in the day I think.”
Tatum’s favorite act in the movie: “Matt Bomer when he plays a doll. It’s the best we came up with.”
Favorite actor he’s worked with so far: “McConaughey is one of the better people. He’s a hero and totally exceeded my expectations.”
Would Tatum play Christian Grey in Fifty Shades Of Grey? “1) Yes. 2) I’d only be allowed if my wife was Ana. She’s read the books so I don’t think she’d be impressed if she couldn’t be Ana!”
