Oh my goodness. I gave Madame Tussauds in London a “pass” earlier today upon seeing their new wax figures of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Similar ceremonies were held around the world, but the one in New York’s outpost was so appallingly terrible that it needed to be called out.
I’m not sure who is responsible for creating the New York City Duchess, but they should get a stern talking-to. I do know that Louis Wiltsire at Tussauds in London used footage and photos of the couple as a design guide, because Their Royal Highnesses were unable to schedule a sitting.
I’m guessing that the person responsible for replicating Catherine in the custom-made lilac Alexander McQueen gown from July 9th’s BAFTA’s Brits To Watch event in Los Angeles, watch movies from Lifetime and Hallmark instead.
