Los Angeles Has Wills & Kate Fever!

July 7th, 2011 // 2 Comments

Southern California is SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO excited to welcome the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to Los Angeles tomorrow.  We know that Canada was thrilled to host Prince William and Kate, but American is just as ecstatic to be in the presence of royalty.  And by royalty we don’t mean Tom Cruise or Steven Speilberg.  Nay, for we are talking about the kind of royalty that actually counts and uses shiny things like crowns and such.

PHOTOS: Might We Expect Kate To Dress Down While In LA?

No doubt Tom Hanks and Jennifer Lopez are wetting themselves over Saturday night’s BAFTA gala in downtown Los Angeles.  There, 42 up-and-coming “Brits To Watch” will mingle with Nicole Kidman and Maria Bello while trying their very best to meet William and Kate (no one gives a rats about Barbra Streisand when the future King of England is in the room. Be serious).  According to People, other stars who are expected to attended Saturday’s event at the Belasco Theater include Rita Wilson, Marc Anthony, Zach Galifinakis, Ed Helms, Jack Black, James Brolin, Chris Evans, Ginnifer Goodwin, Judd Apatow and wife Leslie Mann, Jason Bateman, Nigel Lythgoe, Cat Deeley, Derek Hough, Mekhi Phifer, Gemma Arterton, director Jason Reitman and Zooey Deschanel.

Even Kitson on Robertson Boulevard is decked out to welcome William and Kate!  And you can forget about getting anywhere near Hancock Park this weekend.  TRH will be staying in one of the seven bedrooms at the British Consul-General’s Mediterranean pad.

You would think all this travel would get tiring for them. Kate always has her smile on. Why on earth is Derek Hough there? Will he bring his date Ryan Seacrest?
Oh — he dates his sister,

  2. Royals Visit

“We know that Canada was thrilled to host Prince William and Kate, but American is just as ecstatic to be in the presence of royalty”

Sorry Kelly but the relationship is different. MUCH MUCH MUCH different. The Duke of Cambridge is Canada’s future King and Canada is the Royal Family’s favourite Commonwealth country. Your country is excited about the Royals from a celebrity viewpoint. Canada’s attachment to the Duke and Duchess is much deeper and is not about celebrity. It is about tradition and our history as a country.
