The Killers are back with the single “Runways!” Woot!
The track bares all the hallmarks of classic Killers, with a relentless beat mixed with crashing guitars and Brandon Flowers distinctive vocals. The pop sound of Human has been replaced with a rockier sound, similar to that heard on Flowers’ solo album Flamingo.
The track also incorporates an 80s glam-rock sound, as The Killers set their sights on a return to stadium stardom with their 2012 comeback.
Listen to the song below.
“We’re all just runaways / I knew it when I met you / I’m not gonna let you runaway / I knew it when I held you I wasn’t letting go,” sings Flowers on the track’s epic chorus. Check out the full lyrics on DirectLyrics.
“Runaways” is taken from the band’s fourth studio album, Battle Born, which is due for release in Autumn of this year.
