Becks Suffers An Expensive Ouchie

March 6th, 2007 // 3 Comments

David Beckham sustained damage to the lateral internal ligament of his right leg after running into a sign at a home game for the L.A. Galaxy over the weekend. Additional testing should be able to indicate if he’ll be able to get back on the field by July in order to transition to Major League Soccer. In light of his $250 million contract with the L.A. Galaxy, this injury to his knee could end up being the equivalent of the franchise aiming a shotgun at its metaphoric foot and pulling the trigger.

“It looks serious but I do not want to say how bad until the doctors do the scan,” said Real Madrid Coach Fabio Capello.

Always the optimist, I’m here to assure everyone that it could be much worse. Something could have happened to that pretty, pretty face of his.

  1. Megan

This happened at a Real Madrid game, not an LA Galaxy game. He isn’t playing for the LA Galaxy just yet.

  2. I hate it when bad things happen to pretty men.
(had it been Mrs. Becks, yep, i’d have giggled)

  3. Huh?

It didn’t happen at an LA Galaxy game. In fact, the Galaxy season doesn’t even start until April. It happened at a Real Madrid match.
