Lil’ Wayne Might Have To Pay Up

December 18th, 2008 // 1 Comment

New Orleans-based rapper Lil’ Wayne is being accused of stealing the track “Once” by South African musician Karma-Ann Swanepoel for use in his 2007 hit song “Feel Like Dying.”

An official complaint has been filed against Cash Money Records by attorneys for Swanepoel in New Orleans federal court, requesting to see documents that detail the profits the company has made as a result of the song.

Court documents in the complaint claim that negotiations for use of the song began, but that the rights were never actually secured. Well, we know there’s at least one briefcase full of one million dollars lurking somewhere, but there might not be a receipt for that.
