The launch of Lady Gaga‘s Barneys Workshop has been one her little monsters have been waiting for. “It’s a ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ moment,” said mother monster last night (November 21st) at the flagship store in New York City. “We wanted it all to be whimsical and fun, with a sense of art and fashion.”
Wearing a dramatic custom dress by Chanel, Gaga arrived on a sleigh to the delight of fans. The Associated Press described the spectacle perfectly: “5,500 square feet of bright colors, crazy shapes and a gigantic cartoon statue of the superstar herself in a pinup pose surrounded by jagged mirrors and sitting atop thousands of black plastic discs.”
There’s even a candy shop, filled with rock candy necklaces, cookies, and a helluva lot more for fans, including jewelry by Erica Beaman and Pamela Love.
Also at the launch: Blake Lively, The Misshapes, Susanne Bartsch, Neil Patrick Harris, David Burtka, Caroline Murphy, Brad Goreski, Matthew Settle, Bryanboy, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Justin Mikita, Prabal Gurung, Alan Cumming, and Christian Siriano.
