Lady Gaga to the rescue! The pop star/fashion statement icon/activist never ceases to amaze me. Remember that outfit made of meat she wore to the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards? Yeah, well this time around, she’s making a more personable and worthy statement. (Thank God for none of that fashion nonsense.)
Gaga is known for being outrageous. However, outrageous (in Gaga’s world) is not always a bad thing. To prove that, on Tuesday, September 25, the icon launched Body Revolution 2013.This new initiative’s goal is to provide fans with an outlet to celebrate their flaws. Gaga is encouraging people to share their socially deemed flaws by posting pictures of themselves on the project’s page.
Through Twitter pictures, she flaunted her body loud and proud in yellow, barely-there underwear with the caption, “Bulimia and anorexia since I was 15.” With just under 30 million followers, there seems to be a good reception amongst fans.
According to MTV News, the page has already been taken over by photos of brave fans celebrating their flaws. Additionally, the page has welcomed comments commending the superstar for inspiration and motivation to overcome physical insecurities.
Gaga’s genuine interest and compassion in reaching out to her fans and helping them fight through their perceived flaws is aimed at helping them live happier lives. She really is emphasizing her Born This Way anthem. Take a look at the gallery to see Lady Gaga strip down for her fans!
