Kristen Stewart Passes On ‘Superman’

February 2nd, 2011 // 1 Comment

It seems that a source close to Zack Snyder has told The New York Daily News that the director and his wife recently met with Kristen Stewart to discuss the role of Louis Lane in his new Superman film.

While the source says Stewart “ultimately passed” on being cast as the tenacious reporter who works alongside Clark Kent, another source says that Stewart wasn’t offered the role.

But it also stands the reason that Stewart would turn down the role after having just come off a giant blockbuster franchise, so why would she want to get involved in another one? It’s evident in her choosing smaller roles in independent films that she’s more interested in parts than blockbusters. Then again, she also is said to have wanted the lead in Snow White and the Huntsman, which begins filming this summer  - the same time that Superman begins shooting.

The source also told the paper that Snyder was left feeling “slighted” by Stewart and that the awkward beauty had “wasted his time.” Other actresses that are up for the role: Jessica Biel, Dianna Agron, Rachel McAdams, Malin Akerman & Mila Kunis.

“British government assassinates producer of Christopher Reeve Superman movies in Mexico” – WOW,

those wicked, pesky, cultureless brits don’t waste any time getting the competition “out of the

way” to replace it with their fruitcaked half-baked government propaganda mimic version. Can we

say “Buddy Holly”, anyone. I sure can.
