Kirsten Dunst Talks Bad Boys & Depression

August 1st, 2011 // 2 Comments

Kirsten Dunst has had a hell of a time these past few years. Remember back when she was in Spider-Man and on top of the world? Well, she’s had it a bit rocky since then. The Improper has some quotes from Kirsten’s latest interview with Elle UK where she talks about finally giving up on dating the bad boy and being treated for depression.

Kirsten tells Elle, “We all want the bad guy who doesn’t give you what you want. I did a lot of sitting in my car, listening to sad music, crying over boys.” Kirsten has been dating Rilo Kiley band member Jason Boesel, and the two seem to be quite happy together. “[Jason's] not into partying and it works. We have similar schedules: long periods of time off and periods of mad work. When I’ve finished work, I travel to be with him. It’s special.”

In 2008, Kirsten was treated for depression following her break-up with Johnny Borrell of Razorlight. She says of that time, “I know what it’s like to lose yourself, to no longer know the difference between right or wrong.” She definitely put that experience to good use though, playing a depressed bride in Lars Von Trier’s Melancholia, for which she won Best Actress at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

Life seems to be back on track for the star who, according to her IMDb profile, has four different projects in various stages of production. Enjoy some shots of Kirsten’s photo shoot for Elle UK. She’s looking quite gorgeous. What do you guys think? Think she’ll be OK? Does she seem happier? Sound off in the comments.

  1. Happy? Yes!!

Both covers are lovely and flirty and sexy! She’s come a long way and I’m glad she’s in good place right now. Can’t wait for Melancholia and all her future projects.

I don’t’ like her and how silly to get depressed for a man I know that’s most common for women but I think that is for not that smart one’s with no self esteem and to lose yourself for the same reason how lame and to be promoting your movie talking about your private life like that I find it so cheap I mean if you want to help the cause you talk about it for a foundation not to promote yourself.
