It seems that the Kings Of Leon are having themselves some serious band drama. The Hollywood Reporter writes that band member and lead singer Caleb Followill abruptly left the stage at a Dallas, Texas show claiming his voice was gone and he was too hot to continue performing in this way. Caleb told the crowd:
“I’m gonna go backstage for a second. I’m gonna vomit. I’m gonna drink some beer … and for the record, I’m not drunk … I’m about to fall down here because I’m so goddamn hot. … I’m gonna come back out here and I’m gonna play three more songs.”
But come back out, he did not. Reports say that temperatures in the area hit around 90 degrees and that Caleb suffered from heat exhaustion that caused his vocal chords to seize. Caleb’s younger brother and bandmate, Jared Followill told the crowd, “We are so unbelievably sorry. There’s no words right now. Caleb’s just a little unfit to play the rest of the show. I know you guys f—ing hate us. I’m so sorry. I can’t apologize enough. It’s really not our fault. He can’t play the rest of the show. … F—ing hate Caleb, not us.” That’s not the end of the story though, nope, not at all. More drama!
Jared took to Twitter to set a few things straight and stir the drama pot. He tweeted, “I love our fans so much. I know you guys aren’t stupid. I can’t lie. There are problems in our band bigger than not drinking enough Gatorade.” Oh snap! And this isn’t the second time the group has cancelled in the middle of a gig. What do you think the bigger reason is this time? Talk about it in the comments!
UPDATE: The band has cancelled the remained of their Unites States tour.
