Kimora Lee Simmons Was Dropped Like An Overpriced Hot Potato

A few days ago I read on NYMag.com that Kimora Lee Simmons was parting ways with her brand, Baby Phat.  The interweb was all abuzz as to what happened between Simmons and the company behind Baby Phat, Kellwood.  Welp, our assumptions that Simmons’ ass was dumped were correct.  The New York Post reported today that Simmons was “unceremoniously dumped” by Kellwood because she was becoming a bit too expensive.

“Kimora was going over-budget. She’d pay herself a fee to be in the
ads, plus she paid her children fees to appear in ads. It costs
thousands of dollars to airbrush her because she’s a size 10. Plus,
they spent a ton of money on body doubles. They would shoot another
model in the clothes, and take Kimora’s head and put in on her body.”

Let’s be serious.  Simmons is way too big for her britches and behaves as if Baby Phat were the second coming of Coco Chanel.  While having high self-confidence is a wonderful thing,  that woman took it to a level no one could afford to keep afloat.

Never one to let a little bad press bring her down, Simmons enjoyed yesterday with her two daughters at Fred Segal in Los Angeles.  Time to sell the hot pink Birkin to put dinner on the table…
