When it comes to New York City Fashion, Kelly Cutrone has been putting on top shows for years. Founder of People’s Revolution, Whitney Port‘s workplace on The City, Kelly has shaped the images for many notorious brands. Now she is putting her experience to a new project. Her own clothing line! Named The Electric Love Army, the line will be headed by Cutrone and Robyn Berkley, a partner at People’s Revolution. Backing up the line with capital will be Chris Burch.
The line will be sportswear that is “affordable and fun. She wants her clothes to use pop culture references that appeal to brainy, sexy young women.”
“You know that scene in ‘Fast Times at Ridgemont High’ where Phoebe Cates climbs out of the swimming pool and pops her bikini ? That’s our girl,” Cutrone said.”
Now I’ve seen that movie A LOT and I am also a huge fan of Kelly’s but I am not quite understanding the reference. However, I have no doubt that the line is one to be seen. But don’t expect to find it in your local Walmart, the plans are for its own freestanding stores. So keep your eyes peeled.
