So this is the point in which I admit that I have not seen even one episode of 24. I know it’s great and people are fanatical about it, but I’ve never caught an episode and never cared to try. Admitting the problem is the first step!
Kiefer Sutherland has made me feel a lot better by admitting that the show works better in a film format. Which is why he’s glad the show was cancelled and super excited about the upcoming 24 movie! Shut up, article titles are supposed to be misleading.
Kiefer does make some good points though.
“I’m very excited about the idea (of a movie). I’m very excited about the opportunity, and singularly because it’s a two-hour representation of a 24-hour day. So for the first time, it will be very feasible in this 24 hours to go from England to Russia, or from China to Japan, depending on where they choose to set it. Before on the TV show, the crisis had to come to us, because the best we could do was get across town. And the two times we ever put Jack Bauer in a plane, it just didn’t work. So it alleviates a huge hurdle that real time writing presented for us.”
Fair enough. Kiefer also mentions that the eighth season was too good to be topped anyway. Maybe Jack Bauer can save my eyes when they roll out of my head.
Either way, Kiefer makes bleeding look good in these pictures of him filming one of the last few episodes of 24 in LA yesterday. I can just smell the bloody manliness looking at them.
