Just when we thought Ke$ha couldn’t get any more musically…unique.
Ke$ha has been under the radar for the past few months. We can only imagine that she has been working on her 3rd album “Warrior,” set to be released November 30th. The singer, who has been relatively tight-lipped about her forthcoming release, spoke to Ryan Seacrest about the details of her new album, and let’s just say that it’s probably the last topic you’d expect to hear someone talk about.
“The theme of this record is magic. I went on a spirit journey by myself. No security guard. No managers. I just went around the world and lived on a boat,” she explained. “I was in Africa rehabilitating baby lions. I went diving with great white sharks, and just went on this crazy spirit quest. I got hypnotised, and I just really wanted this record to be really positive, really raw, really vulnerable and about the magic of life,” says Ke$ha. Okay, that sounds a little hippy-ish, but overall not too weird. Let’s not forget that her last album was called “Cannibal.” Maybe this will be a refreshingly bright direction for her music to go in.
But the singer went on to speak about the meaning behind one of the tracks on the album called “Supernatural” saying, ”It’s about experiences with the supernatural… but in a sexy way.” She then went on to say. “I had a couple of experiences with the supernatural. I don’t know his name! He was a ghost! I’m very open to it.”
So, wait, let me get this straight. Her song “Supernatural” is about Ke$ha having sex (like, real, legit sex?) with a ghost? A dead person. Borderline necrophilia, I’d say. This officially got weird. Perhaps Ke$ha works best with weird. Perhaps her normalcy is getting less and less existent as the years go on.
Either way, her comments about the album, as strange as they are, paired with the release of the first single off the album “Die Young” have definitely created, at least, a guilty curiosity as to what the rest of the album will sound like. Well played, Ke$ha, well played.
The singer was recently spotted filming the video for “Die Young” in Los Angeles, so check out the gallery of the first glimpse of what that will look like.
