Katy Perry And Russell Brand Tie The Knot

Congratulations to the happy couple! Us Weekly has learned that Katy Perry and Russell Brand, pictured in London back in June,  got married in an intimate, traditional Indian ceremony today.  The festivities took place at the Aman-i-Khas resort near the Ranthambhore tiger sanctuary in Rajasthan, where the couple became engaged back in December. Perry prepared for the ceremony by wearing a traditional Indian bridal nose ring, which gets removed by the groom on the wedding night.

Brand recently spoke about his upcoming marriage at a New York Times Talks, where he revealed that he is taking
“We just love each other and we want to get married in front of our friends and family and keep it very normal. It ain’t about selling the pictures, it ain’t about doing no pre-nup, it’s just a normal thing. I’m trying to preserve it, to keep it a beautiful thing. I think people get the wrong idea on how we want the wedding to play out. Love between two people is the most spectacular, yet ordinary thing in the world.”
So what does the couple have planned after the marriage?
Brand and Perry have 13 vehicles on hand to take their guests on tours of the tiger sanctuary, where photogs were apparently beaten by Brand’s bodyguards recently. Well, let’s hope that the couple had some privacy on their special day; although I’m not going to lie—I’d love to see Katy in her Elie Saab gown. Plus, it was reported that Russell Brand planned on riding into the wedding on a horse, flanked by camels and elephants. A ceremony like that is just begging to be photographed.
