Luxurious (and targeted towards the older, richer set) brand St. John has gone a bit more mainstream in the last four years or so. Following Angelina Jolie’s lead (but photographing much better) is Oscar winner Kate Winslet, the new face of St. John.
Winslet spent the day at an old movie theater in New Jersey a few weeks ago shooting the Fall 2011 campaign, posing in both casual and dolled-up pieces from the collection. “I’m obviously not a model. I’m not the size of a model. I don’t have the face of a model or the shape of a model,” Winslet told Women’s Wear Daily.
The brand is aiming to revitalize their image by introducing several different looks modeled by the gorgeous Brit. The company’s creative director was excited to enlist her help, according to Us Magazine. “[Kate] is an accomplished, beautiful woman with an extraordinary body of work, and one of the most admired actors of her generation. She embodies the modern sensibility of St. John, she is contemporary and authentically captures the style of the St. John woman,” George Sharp explained.
