Kate Winslet Attends The Venice Film Festival, Talks About Necker Island Fire
Kate Winslet looked sensational in neutral blazer, LDB and two-toned heels at a photocall today in Venice, Italy. The Oscar-winning actress posed with co-stars John C. Reilly and Christoph Waltz for the Roman Polanski-directed movie, Carnage at the 68th Annual Film Festival.
Winslet recently talked about the fire that burned down Sir Richard Branson’s Necker Island home in the British Virgin Islands. She was vacationing there with her two children and boyfriend Louis Dowler when lighting struck, forcing guests to evacuate as the house caught fire.
Winslet helped to get Branson’s 90-year-old mother to safety, and told Entertainment Weekly, “I will never forget Richard placing his arms around both my children as we were watching the flames, and saying, ‘At the end of the day, what you realize is that all that matters is the people that you love. Everything else is just stuff. And none of that stuff matters.”
