Supermodel Kate Moss hits the cover of Vogue this month and gives us commoners a taste of what her wedding was like. Vogue was given an all access pass to the event from the pre-wedding photo shoot with photographer Mario Testino seen in the magazine, to the details of Kate’s 1920s inspired party.
Kate and rocker beau Jamie Hince may have been married at the beginning of July, but the story of the wedding we’re hearing now is almost as if it was happening today. According to the magazine, Kate wanted herself a Great Gatsby wedding. “I wanted it to be kind of dreamy and 1920s, when everything is soft-focus. The Great Gatsby. The code name was GG for a while. That light and that kind of fun decadence. It’s rock-’n’-roll Great Gatsby!”
Kate’s dress was designed by long-time friend and collaborator, John Galliano, to fit her sense of style, as well as his. “She dared me to be John Galliano again,” he told Vogue. Gallino’s inspiration for the dress came from Jazz Age photographs of Zelda Fitzgerald. Gallino’s dress wasn’t the only she wore that night. Kate had four outfits lined up: the main Galliano wedding dress, a smoky-gray Stella McCartney dress, a gold Stella McCartney minidress & finally a 1930s wedding dress she wore for her bachelorette party.
The party partied on until around 6 am when the sun finally came up. Quite frankly, this wedding sounds amazing. Jazz band, DJ, 20s style everything, celebrities–I wanna go! Wait, it’s over. Next time. What do you guys think of the wedding? Sound amazing? You know, I never really liked Kate Moss, but after reading about this wedding I am thoroughly impressed.
