Officially, only the Duke of Cambridge was due to attend the Ring O’ Fire race in Anglesey, Wales today. However, the palace hinted to some insiders that the Duchess of Cambridge might join him, should she feel up to it.
Today, the glowing new mother did indeed feel up to help William ring the bell. Just before the royal couple arrived to the start of the race, Kensington Palace tweeted the update, which included an appearance by Her Royal Highness.
“Initially the Duchess wasn’t going to attend,” a palace source told the Daily Mail‘s Rebecca English. ”But she was also keen for the chance to thank the people of Anglesey herself for the warmth and hospitality they have shown her and the Duke.”
Carole Middleton came up north to watch five-week-old Prince George while mom stepped out in skinny jeans, a Zara top (recycled from friend Mark Tomlinson‘s March 2013 Swiss wedding weekend) and her Pied a Terre “Imperias” wedges, according to What Kate Wore.
While William and Catherine made their way through the crowds, a baby started crying.
“We’re hearing a bit of that at the moment,” he joked to the baby’s mother.
Catherine’s next engagement is on September 12th in London. She and Prince William will be guests of honor at the Tusk Conservation Award.
