We couldn’t help but feel nostalgic today when Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge rode a carriage back to Buckingham Palace from lunch at Westminster Palace.

The route took her, Prince Harry and Prince William along Whitehall, past Trafalger Square and along The Mall, according to the BBC, a procession that rounded out the four-day Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

The 1902 State Landeau, which The Queen rode, is the same carriage William and Catherine took on their newlywed ride back to Buckingham Palace on April 29th, 2011.  After arriving back at the palace, the Cambridges joined the Prince of Wales, Camilla and Her Majesty on the Buckingham Palace balcony to witness a fly-past and songs dedicated to the Diamond Jubilee.

Catherine was even photographed saying something to the Queen on the balcony, another indication of how the former Kate Middleton has been welcomed into the royal fold.
