Kate And William To Use Scottish Titles At Zara Phillips’ Wedding
This weekend while The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are in Scotland, they will go by The Earl And Countess of Strathearn, as these are William and Catherine’s Scottish title while in the country. The newlyweds and the rest of the Windsors (Prince Harry included) will pack up and head due north to Edinburgh where they’ll celebrate the wedding of William’s cousin Zara Phillips and rugby player Mike Tindall Saturday. As we’ve mentioned previously, Zara is the daughter of Princess Anne, Princess Royal and Queen Elizabeth II’s first granddaughter. Though Zara doesn’t have a title (her mother wanted her to have a normal upbringing. I would have been PISSED), she is 13th in line to the throne.
After the ceremony at Canongate Kirk, a reception will take place at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the Queen’s official home whenever she is in Scotland. Unlike Will and Kate’s April 29th wedding (we couldn’t help but pop in a few pics from Westminster Abbey), Zara and Mike’s nuptials will be a private affair, with no press allowed inside the ceremony or at the palace, according to the BBC. However, fans will be outside on the Royal Mile to wish the couple well and to sneak a peek at what Kate will wear (a fancy fascinator, no doubt).
