Kara DioGuardi Is Leaving American Idol
People Magazine is reporting that Kara DioGuardi is officially leaving the American Idol franchise after only two years as a judge on the ‘talent’ program. That is if you count some of the ridiculous people on that show as talented. This isn’t surprising due to the fact that judges were dropping like flies recently. The speculation has gone on for weeks about whether Kara would be fired or leaving. Kara released a statement on September 3rd concerning her departure.
“I felt like I won the lottery when I joined American Idol two years ago, but I feel like now is the best time to leave Idol. I am very proud to have been associated with American Idol — it has truly been an amazing experience,” DioGuardi said.
Simon Fuller, Idol’s creator and executive producer said it was a shame to lose Kara because she is one of the world’s most high profile song writers. Huh?
“I will miss having her on the show, but I look forward to working with her in music for many years to come,” Fuller said.
Seen here at the 2010 CMT Music Awards at the Bridgestone Arena on June 9th in Nashville, Tennessee, DioGuardi is looking annoying as ever. This woman’s track record is a nightmare. Most of the songs she has written make me want to kill myself. Now I know who to blame for wanting to rip my hair out every time I’m forced to listen to pure crap on the radio.
Rumored replacement judges for the next season include Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler.
