Clear Channel Media & Entertainment, The Madison Square Garden Company and The Weinstein Company pulled out all the stops last night in New York City.
Calling on literally every name in the music business (with a few movie stars and models thrown in for good measure), they put on a concert to benefit the Robin Hood Relief Fund to aid the victims of Hurricane Sandy.
In a move my friend deemed “JERSEY ROYALTY” (guess where he’s from), Jon Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen got on stage together for “Born To Run.”
“You can feel the electricity in the building, which means that Long Island power isn’t involved,” Billy Crystal joked to the audience, according to CBS News.
Kristen Stewart made a touching speech, noting the strength of New Jersey.
“She flew in from California just to be here tonight because she wanted to help out,” Crystal said as he welcome Stewart on to the stage. ”She got here in three seconds because that’s what vampires do when they fly at night, they go very fast.”
“I am here to talk to you about New Jersey tonight,” Stewart told the audience.
“Now is your chance to be Jersey strong with us.”
