Kanye West Wants You To Leave The Gays Alone

August 7th, 2008 // 3 Comments

Kanye West brought his Glow in the Dark tour to Madison Square Garden on August 5, and he basically came out of the closet on stage. No one who has that much fashion know-how can like the ‘gine. It’s impossible.

He gave a big ole’ speech and here’s the gist:

“Open your fucking minds. Open your minds. Be accepting of different
people and let people be who they are. You know how many people came to
me calling me gay cause I wear my jeans the fresh way? Or because I
said hey, dude, how you gonna say ‘fag’ right in front of a gay dude’s
face and act like that’s ok. That shit is disrespectful. Coming from
Chicago, where if you saw somebody that was gay you were supppoed to
stay ten feet away. It should be time to break out of the intuitions
that I was sayin’, the stereotypes, or the fear, the backlash that I
would get if you don’t believe in what I believe in, acceptin’ people
for who they are…they’re very talented and if they do something
special in the world and they’re discriminated…”

Coming from a hip-hop artist, that’s pretty rad. As a hip-hop fan (I like Luda and Busta), it’s hard when you’re listening to a track and all of a sudden they gotta drop some bullshit about how liking the D is wrong and means you suck. You’re bobbin’ your head and all of a sudden it’s like “what?”  Then again, that shit isn’t too kind to the ladies either, so I guess no one is benefiting.

How much you wanna bet some gay designer turned down ‘Ye’s request for free clothes and this was the result? Work the system, ‘Ye!

Check out all the photos of Kanye West in the gallery.

Hmm. One of the few (first?) intelligent things to come from Kanye.

I’m a fag…usually care for supporters of the fags, but personally I would never want Kanye closer than 10 feet to me. He’s an idiot.
