It was only a matter of time before Justin Timberlake came clean about his silly-looking costumes from the days of N’Sync.
Though Timberlake told the May issue of Details that he “conformed” because the image of the group required it, how does he explain that denim monstrosity worn to match then-girlfriend Britney Spears‘ country gown (complete with a gaudy choker) in 2001?
“There were many moments in my teenage years where I succumbed to, um, the weirdness of the group I was in,” Timberlake said (via Daily Mail). ”And in trying to conform – we’re marionettes – I ended up looking like a moron.” Yeah, but it’s cool. We were still totally in love with you.
Timberlake also has a problem with men who have a dependance on grooming products. ”I don’t like when I see guys do too much hair gel,” Timberlake told Details. ”I don’t mean Pauly D, because that’s basically performance art. But when you use enough hair gel that your hair becomes a sculpture – and you wanted it to look that way? It’s just weird.”
I appreciate that Timberlake gave a a nod to Pauly D’s hair, which the Jersey Shore star claims takes 25 minutes to perfect.
We all have fashion choices from the past that come back to haunt us. Unfortunately for Timberlake, his will hang around the interweb forever and ever. Please do yourselves a favor and launch the gallery to see the hid-ay-ous outfits Timberlake wore.
