Amongst FX‘s reoccurring trends in television, violence appears to be the one that Justified star Timothy Olyphant is counting on to make season 3 most memorable.
“Episode four is great. The violence is fun and unexpected. Everything’s firing on all cylinders that episode,” said Olyphant to Entertainment Weekly about his favorite episode so far. Olyphant, seen here at FX‘s Justified season 3 premiere screening at the Directors Guild Of America on January 10 in Los Angeles, California, suggested season 3 could be the most violent season yet.
Adding to the violence is new villain, Neal McDonough, who will play Quarles – a Detroit mobster.
The former Desperate Housewives star is no stranger to violence, sex and scandal after 24 episodes on Wisteria Lane. And while Desperate Housewives is saying good bye after eight seasons, McDonough is finding his scandal in another series.
“[Quarles is] this Northerner coming in [to the South],” Olyphant explained. “So it’s not just a bad guy coming to town, it’s a guy that represents something that goes back hundreds of years.”
Justified returns to FX on Tuesday, January 17 at 10/9c.
