The Duke of Cambridge, Prince William and his lovely Duchess wife, Kate Middleton, visited North Wales on Friday, the place where they spent their first few years of marriage while William was an RAF helicopter pilot, and it looks like they had loads of fun. Ah, to be happily married and royal.

Kate was particularly spirited when she and William headed to the Towers Residential Outdoor Education Centre in Capel Curig, where they put on rock-climbing gear and went for it.

With a big smile on her face, the mother-of-two scaled backwards down a 40 foot wall, giggling, Daily Mail reports, and held onto the rope as hubby Wills did the same. She reportedly said, ‘I’m quite enjoying this actually. For once I’m in control.”  Seriously, don’t  you want to be BFFs with these two? Like, if you saw them at a party, you could just totally chat them up, and they’d be cool as hell, and then they’d invite you over for tea sometime. I have a rich fantasy life.

Anyway, I digress. The royal couple were in North Wales to highlight charity work. They greeted well-wishers when they touched down, with Kate, looking stylish in a grey coat, having a super cute exchange with a little boy who handed her some flowers.

In Caernarfon, William and Kate also spent time at a local branch of the mental health charity Mind and spend some time with a group that provides support and accommodation for local homeless youth. Click through the gallery above for all the pics!
