Julia Roberts Is “Horrible” In Tarsem Singh’s ‘Snow White’ [PHOTOS]

We’re learning more and more about Relativity Media’s untitled Snow White project as the release date gets closer (March 2012).  In addition to the release of even more photos from the film, Lily Collins spoke about co-star Julia Roberts, who plays the evil queen.

“You forget that’s really Julia because she’s so good,” Collins told People.  “Off camera, she’s so down to earth and so sweet. We’d be shooting and she’s being extremely horrible to me [in character] and once they yell cut, the first thing she says to me, ‘Are you okay? I’m sorry, I hate being mean to you.’”

Collins is staying neutral on the topic of Tarsem Singh‘s version vs Universal’s Snow White And The Huntsman, starring Kristen Stewart.  “I’m really excited for Kristen’s version and I’m really excited about ours,” Collins said diplomatically.

“[Singh's film] really made the fairy-tale story that we love come to life. There’s a bit of everything in it. There’s romance, lots of action and it’s fun and it’s a comedic adventure, too. There are some dark moments, but really it is the fairy-tale story that’s been updated and modernized.”

The stills in the gallery are trippy and border on Tim Burton-ish storytelling.  I’m intrigued…

I really like Lily but I still don’t really understand the point in this remake. If the story summary and these stills are anything to go by, it’s the same Snow White we have all seen a million times before. Movie tickets are not cheap anymore and I have yet to see anything from this one that makes me want to give up my money to see it. At least with the other Snow White, we will be getting something new and different.
