Joshua Jackson has gotten desperate in his crusade to save his sci-fi FOX series Fringe. The show has had a massive ratings decline and a move to 9PM Fridays doesn’t help.
“I’m a positive person in general, but we really need our Fringe fans to tune in and watch us on Fridays,” Jackson, pictured on Valentine’s Day with girlfriend Diane Kruger, tells EW. “We did good when we first moved, but last week we did not have a good week ratings wise. It is going to take the people that like the show to watch the show and start the campaign and show their support if they want to see us stick around for another season.”
He tried to drum up the hype with some teasers and spoilers, but hey, they’ve been doing that for weeks now. Jackson’s earlier prediction that fans were watching later on their DVRs was right: the episode’s adult demo went up 57 percent over the next three days due to playback. However, that isn’t what the network is looking for. So for those who like seeing Joshua Jackson on TV, consider this an S.O.S.!
