Josh Hutcherson Talks About ‘The Hunger Games’ Audition Process
Josh Hutcherson visited Good Morning America in New York City on November 14th to premiere the first movie trailer for The Hunger Games. Hutcherson plays male tribute, Peeta Mellark, in the dystopian film that is set to premiere on March 23rd, 2012. If you are a fan of the book series you have to watch the trailer, I got goose bumps over how awesome the movie looks! Hutcherson has been making the promotional rounds for the trailer’s premiere, he sat down with MTV to talk about The Hunger Games audition process.
It turns out that The Hunger Games character, Peeta Mellark, and Josh Hutcherson have a lot in common. Hutcherson said about his character, “When I read the books, I had never read a character that was more like who I am as a person and had kind of my core values and what I believe in. So it kind of drove me crazy in a way, because I felt like I was so right for it,” He went on to say in the audition process, he and Jennifer Lawrence, who plays Katniss Everdeen, had great chemistry between each other, which will be vital to the trilogy.
Not only will Hutcherson star in The Hunger Games, he has four other movies lined up for a 2012 release! Hutcherson will be a part of the Red Dawn reboot, 7 Dias En La Habana, directed by Benicio Del Toro and Journey 2: The Mysterious Island with past rumored girlfriend, Vanessa Hudgens.
