Jon Hamm Says Antidepressants Help With Depression
Despite his confident, brash character on Mad Men, Jon Hamm said that he suffered through depression through much of his early life.
Hamm tells the U.K.’s The Observer that while he was attending the University Of Texas, his father passed away and set him into a chronic depression that he dealt with through both therapy and medication.
The actor, seen here heading to a photo shoot – seemingly fully loaded, lost his mother to stomach cancer when he was 10.
He said the meds help to help people re-start their chemistry to want to wake up and get back to living.
Amen. And it’s nice to hear an actor come out and say, “You know what, my life hasn’t been all that great, but I overcame it.”
