Johnny Depp Gets Into Character On The Set Of ‘The Lone Ranger’ [PHOTOS]

What’s that on the ladder?  Why, it’s Johnny Depp!

The star got into character for scenes from the upcoming flick, The Lone Ranger.  Depp plays Tonto, who recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid (Armie Hammer) into a legend of justice.  Helena Bonham Carter and Tom Wilkinson also star alongside Depp.

“My great-grandmother was quite a bit of Native American, she grew up Cherokee or maybe Creek Indian,” Depp has said about his heritage in regard to the film, according to the Daily Mail.  “Makes sense in terms of coming from Kentucky, which is rife with Cherokee and Creek.”

The cinematic reboot follows the popular television that aired from 1949-1957, and before that in 1993 as a radio show.
