An event other than the Golden Globes took place LA last night. Apparently this Aussie love-fest is a week long with walkabouts in Beverly Hills and Indigenous art exhibits. The black-tie dinner is the highlight and this year it was at the Hollywood & Highland Centre and drew stars from the outback and elsewhere.
Mia Wasikowska, the Alice in Tim Burton‘s upcoming 3D Alice In Wonderland attended while Miley Cyrus‘s Australian beau and rumored fiance, Liam Hemsworth, was a no show.
Olivia Newton John caught up with her Grease costar John Travolta, but the two were not the ones to break out into a spontaneous duet. Peachy Nicole Kidman and her husband Keith Urban broke out into a musical ode to Simon Baker sung to the tune of Men At Work’s Land Down Under with lines such as “His name is Simon Baker, surfer dude, home renovator.”
Travolta is focusing on more serious behavior like sending a plane to Haiti. “I have arranged for a plane to take down some volunteer ministers and some supplies and some medics.” What kind of ministers Mr. Scientology? Although it’s probably wrong to be suspicious conversion missions of aid going to a place that desperately needs it…when we should be worried what’s wrong with Nicole and Keith.
