‘True Blood’s’ Joe Manganiello Reminisces About Superman Role

Joe Manganiello could have been the next Clark Kent but scheduling conflicts got in the way of what could have been a dream job for the True Blood star.  In a recent interview with Access Hollywood, Manganiello claimed that he was so close to getting the part that he was even asked his measurements for the coveted Superman suit.

I haven’t watched True Blood since Sookie’s brother joined that kookie church that wanted to get rid of all vampires, so I’m not too familiar with Manganiello or his character.  However, I think he has a better Clark Kent look than Henry Cavill, the actor chosen to be the next “Man of Steel.”  Cavill’s look seems so dime-a-dozen while Manganiello has this fierceness to him that screams of the ability to wear red speedos over blue tights while remaining the pinnacle of masculinity.  Most importantly, he has a bangin’ tan!  Nonetheless, Joe made the right decision by prioritizing his regular gig over the movie. Director, Zack Snyder has yet to finish picking his actors and who knows when filming will even begin.  Consistent work over playing an awesome superhero?  I would choose working also… probably.  No worries Joe.  Who knows how well this movie will do anyway!  Above, Manganiello looking quite dapper while attending PalyFest 2011 at Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills, CA on March 5, 2011.
