It looks like the Jonas Brothers have officially graduated from Disney. The band – made up of Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas – parted ways with Hollywood Records after releasing three albums, according to Billboard Magazine. Not only that, but they bought back the rights to their master recordings, publishing and merchandising.
“This was a decision that we made as a group,” Kevin, who dined at Pastis in New York yesterday (May 1st) with Joe and a friend, told The Hollywood Reporter. ”Naturally, as with any partnership, when you do part ways, there is emotion tied to it. We’ve been blessed to have a lot of success with Hollywood and with Disney, but speaking on behalf of my brothers and our team, we’re all looking forward to this next chapter. We’re ready for that next step as a group, and being able to take our work with us was so important.”
In addition to their exciting music ventures, the Jonas Brothers are entering into the reality world, co-producing Married To Jonas on E! with Ryan Seacrest Productions. While the focus of the show will be on Kevin and wife Danielle, Nick and Joe will pop in from time to time.
“Kevin and Dani have the most incredible crazy life you can imagine. You’re going to see a lot of Kevin and Dani,” Joe told E! at Monday night’s upfronts in New York. “For us, because we’re making a record obviously as brothers and they’re family, we’ll be popping up here and there. You’ll get to probably see a little bit more of our personal lives. I think more so you’ll get to see how we’re more a family.”
And is Dani afraid that her marriage to Kevin will meet the same fate as Jessica Simpson and Nick Lacheys, as a result of Newlyweds? Nah, the Jonasette says. I think we talk about things more with our feelings and everything. I think it’s going to be good.”
We’ll see…Will you tune into Married To Jonas?
