Jim Carrey On Brain Chemistry

December 16th, 2008 // 3 Comments

Jim Carrey, the current star of Yes Man, went on Larry King Live last night and described how he’s battled depression for many, many years and informed the general public that Prozac is harmful to long-time users. Look, Jim. I know the career isn’t what it used to be, but that’s no reason to join Scientology to get the media talking. Someone put on a V for Vendetta mask, grab their sign and go picket in front of Jimmy’s house!

Actually Carrey, seen here with co-star Zooey Deschanel in Rome for a photocall, says it’s good for a short amount of time.

“At the risk of like opening up the whole Tom Cruise Prozac argument,
you know, I don’t disagree in many ways,” Carrey said. “I think Prozac
and things like that are very valuable to people for short periods of
time. But I believe if you’re on them for an extended period of time,
you never get to the problem. You never get to see what the problem is, because everything is
just kind of OK,” he said. “And so, you don’t deal. And people deal
when they get desperate.”

Carrey says that he recommends certain vitamin supplements when dealing with depression. His girlfriend Jenny McCarthy wants people to watch how they vaccinate their kids. These two want to get really medical and give advice and should probably quit show biz and open a damn clinic.

Carrey says he will be talking more about this matter in the future. Prepare yourselves.
