Jessica Simpson and fiance Eric Johnson arrived at LAX yesterday (September 11th), with Johnson toting their infant daughter, Maxwell. These are the first candids pictures we’ve seen of the baby, other than the select photos Simpson has posted on Twitter.
Speaking of Maxwell and Twitter, peeps are hella-piassed that the new mom posted a photo of her fourth-month-old in a yellow crocheted bikini.
Nevermind that, we can talk about the gross photo Simpson tweeted regarding her ingrown toenail.
Ok, back to the bikini incident, which I don’t think is a big deal at all. British child welfare charity Kidscape told the Daily Mail that Simpson was “sexualizing” Maxwell with a “totally inappropriate” outfit.
“It is very disturbing to see a young baby presented to the world wearing a bikini,” director Claude Knights said. ”Celebrity choices carry great influence, as can be seen by the manner in which their accessories and behaviours are copied widely.
‘It is to be hoped that parents will understand that “baby bikinis” are totally inappropriate, and that they contribute to the sexualisation and commercialisation of childhood.
“We should not be compromising the sanctity of our children’s early years.
Kid in a Pretty Woman hooker costume? I get it. Cute little baby in a bikini? Get over it.
