Despite being ‘box office poison,’ Jennifer Aniston will be appearing on the small screen this fall when appearing on real-life BFF Courteney Cox‘s show Cougar Town.
“She’s going to play Courteney’s shrink named Bonnie,” reveals executive producer Bill Lawrence. “Kind of a get-too-involved-in-her-life-type of therapist. Those guys are so close in real life they kind of do that for each other anyway. Bonnie has the life Jules wishes she has.”
This is the second time the two have worked together since Friends, with the first reunion happening on Cox’s FX show Dirt. Yeah, I forgot about it too.
Lawrence went on to say that they talk about the role and are both very active in creating the part and making sure it’s right, it’s funny and it’s a fit with the show. And will Aniston return? Everyone hopes so.
“We’re very intentionally implying that it’s a therapist Courteney has been using for a while, and we’re certainly not going to make it like they’ll never see each other again,” he says. “So I’m crossing my fingers that if she has a good time it’ll happen again.”
