Hell, I’d be showing of my body too, if I had lost as much weight as Jennifer Hudson has.
She gained 35 pounds during her pregnancy and weighed 237 pounds after the birth of her son, David Daniel Otunga Jr., in August 2009. His father is her fiancé, David Otunga, a Harvard-educated attorney turned reality show professional wrestler.
Hudson was upset that images of her when she was bigger were altered by a publication to make her appear thinner as she felt it was sending out the wrong message to her fans.
She told Dateline: “It’s like, ‘Where’s the rest of me?’ They Photoshopped me probably to the size I am now on that cover, when we all know I was nowhere near that. To me, it did not send out a good message. And it did not represent me well. Did I not just prove that talent is enough if I made it this far? Being who I am, being the size that I am?”
Hudson decided to lose weight and get in shape after his birth “to set an example” for her son and because she realized “this is my body. I have the power to do whatever I want with it.”
